I attempted to convert a divx movie back to dvd using NeroVision. Nero reported no problems with the encoding, and project size was under 4.3 gig, but after encoding was complete, and it came time to burn it to dvd, I got the message that there was not enough space on the disk. Strange, since end result was 4.28 gig.

Next attempt...I told it to write to had drive instead, with NO other changes. After conversion was complete, and files were written to hard drive, I used Nero to create a dvd-video with the VOB files that were created with Vision. This time there was enough space to burn the dvd.

I am using Nero 6, with all latest updates. I was a bit concerned with the quality, but Nero seemed to do a very acceptable job, at least for my needs. I guess starting with a quality divx file helps.

My question is, why one way failed, but the other was successful. Any input? The second way is really, in the end, a better way for me, since I can have it encode during the night, and not have to worry about the tray opening while I'm not around, but I am curious why the first way told me there was not enough space on disk, when clearly, in my opinion, there was.
