I just picked up a copy of this program for $10 on ebay. I loaded it on my Win XP system. No problems yet. But since this was written for Win 95 and NT does anyone know of any issues I might have? I've seen other older programs become unstable somethimes. Ulead doesn't have any patches for this version to XP. I checked their site. I was just curious.

  2. Actually there is a patch for Ver. 5 for XP. I also looked on there web site and did not find it so I emailed them. They sent me back an XP patch. I don't know why they won't keep this patch on their web site...except to "encourage" to buy Ver 7.

There was also a free downloadable upgrade from version 5 to version 5.2. I can't remember what it gave you extra, but I used to run it (I now use version 6.5). The Ulead website seems to not give support to anything earlier than version 6 now.

As the 5.2 upgrade was a free download from the Ulead site, I wouldn't think I would be doing anything wrong by offering to send it to you. If I would, I'm sure someone will jump on me and tell me!!

Yes. I would be interested in that upgrade to 5.2. Would you send that to me? Let me know.

I'll have to email them for the XP upgrade patch.

  5. I know this is an old thread but just in case this might help other people, here is a link to the 5.2 upgrade patch :

    http://web.archive.org/web/20011111141758/http://www.ulead.com/tech/msp_ftp52.htm

I just tried to install my original copy of Ulead Media Studio Pro 5.0 today on a windows XP SP3 computer and it worked. Then I installed the 5.2 update patch and it worked!
Then I copied the directory where Ulead Media Studio Pro 5.2 was installed and pasted it on my Win10 64 bits computer, then launched Video Editor and it worked whereas I had an error message when I wanted to install from my original copy (the error message said the computer was not compatible with this software as it was a 16 bits application) !

So Ulead Media Studio Pro 5.0 and 5.2 still work on Win10 but you have to tweak a few in order to make them work.
