    I converted my video avi to dvd and the quality was great , I went to edit it and the out put play back was sttutering and very jerky. It does this with every dvd authoring program.

    Without details of your conversion method or the files you are working with it is very hard to diagnose the problem.

    At a first guess I would say that it is probably a framerate problem going from say ntsc to pal but without details I cannot confirm.
