  1. Hi, I have a Winfast 2000 deluxe and i've been trying to capture video from an analog source(standalone dvd player) but everytime i capture, there are horizontal flicks that appear on the screen. When I just play the video, it seems fine but when I capture, the flickering appears. I have tried Leadtek's drivers and BT on VDub, VV, and leadteks pvr but the results are the same.

I have tried some filters from http://neuron2.net but they seemed to be of no help.
Are there any filters, preferably for VDub that will help with these flickers or anything else that may help?

Rather than do an analogue capture from your standalone DVD player, why don't you just install a DVD-ROM drive in your pc and rip to hardrive directly?

How do you play the video? On a TV? Do you intend to play the capture on a TV or PC? Can you post a picture of a problem area?

The 'flicks' may be due to interlace source. It will not look good on a PC and it will look good on a PC. May not be this, but if you post a pic, I'll tell you what I'd do.

I assume you mean that the flicker occurs in the viewing screen as you are capturing. And that prior to starting the capture the flicker is not present. Is the flicker still present when you view the captured file on your computer. What codec and resolution are you using? Have you tried the newest Leadtek drivers and PVR? They came out in the last month; some have said quality has improved, but some have had problems.

Maybe it is Macrovision copy protection? Most DVD-players have this to avoid copying to VCR and it may cause problem with capture cards too. But normally you use a DVD-ROM reader to "capture" from DVD.

  6. The reason i'm not copying it from a dvd rom driver is simply because i don't have one lol. I've upgraded to the latest drivers and the flickering only appears if I capture and it also appears if I play that capture back. The bigger the resolution, the more I flickers Iget and even at 3**x2** i get alot of it

I'm capturing it on an Athlon 1900+ and cpu usage never goes to 100% so I don't think its the cpu.

Rather than all the messing about with drivers, just go out and buy a DVD-ROM drive! For about £25 in UK or $30 in US (Don't you just hate it when people expect you to know where they are, fill in your details, that's why the chance is there!), you can save yourself all the grief and just rip at 10x instead of capturing flickering DVD's in real time.

  8. It sounds like Microvision to me.

Is that like "Macrovision" but smaller?
