I use nero to convert my avi's and burn them to vcd.
Only problem is the avi's are originally wide screen and after the conversion the vcd is full screen and the image is stretched vertically. any suggestions

I tried using Nero to re-encode a divx movie back to dvd. I know, I know, use Tempgenc, but that's not my problem. When it comes time to burn the project to dvd (I am using dvd-video), it tells me there is not enough space on the disk. Project size is 4.28 gig, so there should be enough room. I am using TDK 2x dvd-r to burn to with a Pioneer A06.

Any ideas or suggestions? I'm trying to avoid forking out money for Tempgenc.

I have the same problem - Ahead's site give the below as the cure, i dont know if it works yet as i am having other issues at the minute.
    Good luck

    5. Nero Reports: "Not Enough Space To Make Copy". Why?

    One possible solution is:
Under Windows 2000/XP, please uninstall Nero from your system using the Control Panels Add/Remove Program feature, and then delete the Ahead folder from the C:\Program Files directory.
Remove all traces of Nero (and Ahead) from Program Files and Winnt directories.

And remove traces of Nero in "Setupadi.log" and "apcompact.inf" and edit these out. Reboot and Reinstall Nero and it should now work.

I do use TMPGEnc but i always have problems with audio after i encode it, there is no sound on the final vcd. I tried splitting the audio from Vdub, but i still get no sound.
i have Divx, Xivd, Mpeg 2, ac3filter codecs but still no sound after the conversion (mind you at least its wide screen lol)

Try extracting the audio with Goldwave, works for me.
