OK, I know htis topic has proably been explained to death, but i just cant seem to figure it out. I am filtering a movie from the original file type of XVID. I use VirtualDub-1_4_13 to split the movie and filter the audio/video. It seems that when I choose the halfway mark and Filter the first half, the destonation file is fine! BUT, heres the BUT, when I continue to filter the SECOND half of the movie the destonation file's audio Sync is WAY OFF!! You hear the audio first and then see them say the words like 5-10sec later!

However this does not happen all the time it only happens when i load a .avi file into VirtualDub-1_4_13 and i get an error pop up in the begining that reads something like...

"VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with the standard CBR values durring processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to (number of ms ie. 49431)ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder."

So i have tried pretty much evrything i could figure out with the VirtualDub-1_4_13 prgram. I treid cahnging the skew manually and so on. I do understand that the error message i got was some kind of instructions. But i just can seem to grasp the idea what they are trying to tell me.

PLEASE can someone help me figure this out, point me in any direction where there might be a guid of some sort that i can read on how to fix this problem. try to be as detailed as possible as i am very new to this movie scene.

Thank you very much!
