I found vcdhelp.com from a link in an amazon.com review of the Dazzle DVC-80.
The reviewer wrote, "...go to vcdhelp.com for all the answers..." It also said "don't waste your time and money with the DVC-80."
I took advice number one and ignored advice B. I bought the DVC-80, couldn't get it to work, read about the ADVC-100 here, got that, and I'm having a great time with my video hobby.
DVDrhelp.com should have this disclaimer: Warning, reading this site may cause video conversion addiction which is costly in terms of health, finances, and marital status. :PDon't squat with yer spurs on. -

I was out partying, and I went into this hotel room with this woman, and I had a drink and blacked out, and when I woke up, I was in a bathtub filled with ice and cold water.
I got out of the tub, and felt some pain in my back, and I reached back and felt stitches. I went to the mirror to look at my back, and written in red lipstick on the mirror was

When my parents got our first DVD player (Apex AD-800) I saw on the side of the box it could play a VCD so I looked through the manual to find out what it was and I wanted to know how to make one. I found this site and followed a DivX to VCD guide using virtualdub, tmpg, and vcdeasy to make a VCD from a DivX skateboard video I had on my computer from a friend. Soon I used Sefy's Classic DVD Backup guide to make my first DVD backup and I was hooked. I didn't join the forums until I was browsing through and found a person's question that I could answer. I regularly go to this site and Doom9's (mostly for news or for information about more advanced stuff).

Google search for "VCD". Read for many hours one weekend, by Sunday evening I had my first playable VCD. All hail Baldrick, The Great Originator! And guide authors too, well some of them. :P
Pull! Bang! Darn! -
Found this site by accident. Didn't even know what a VCD was until I found this site.

It came to me in a bowl of Alphabets Soup.

As I recall, it all began while in the reading room when out of sheer boredom I read an article on burning software. It mentioned that one of them could do something called "Super Video CD". I'm pretty sure the link which finally lead me here was on Luke's Video homepage.
