So far I have successfully ripped DVDs using DVDShrink and transferred them to disk with Nero and encountered no problems. This week I decided that I would go one step further and try to extract certain episodes of Fawlty Towers from the original two disks and make one disk containing just my favourites with menus and a soundtrack.
So.... What I did (and this is probably a very laughable and amateurish method but I'm just starting out on my quest for DVD expertise) was copy the required episodes to my hard drive using SmartRipper (I saw an articles that said DVDShrink had a fault regarding audio/video synchronicity when doing it like this) and then created a .Wav file using DVD2AVI.
I then loaded both the video and audio files into TMPGenc and encoded them using the DVD(PAL) template at its slowest and, I hoped, most accurate setting. I was intending to load the files into Ulead DVD MovieFactory and write them to a DVD with a simple menu designed by me. 2 Hours later the first Mpeg was produced but while it is viewable, it is awful flickery when there is any amount of movement happening on the screen.
What did I do wrong? All answers welcome. I have tried searching the forums but not been able to locate anything specific as I don't really know where the problem lies.
