Here's the case I'm having trouble with:
Demux a VOB to m2v and ac3
Make a new m2v (original was letterbox, new is widescreen), about the same size as the original
Make a new VOB set using DVD Maestro (compile as usual, so subs or anything fancy)
Copy new VOBs to original VIDEO_TS
The whole point was to convert an extra feature from letterbox to widescreen, while keeping everything else as per original. At first I used IFOedit to remux new m2v, but I had all sorts of trouble (I posted a yet unanswered thread) so I thought of the above way.
Now, everything is A-OK, I have the original menus and everything and the new widescreen feature plays fine, but when it ends, instead of returning back to the "extra features" menu, it either crashes PowerDVD or it just stops. Is there anything I can do about it?
I have tried copying original IFO and BUP (but to be used with the new VOBs) changing the video stream type in IFOedit, but I get the same result. Perfect playback, crash or stop after it ends. I have also tried keeping original VTS_04_0.VOB and using new VTS_04_1.VOB but I still have the same result.
I have done "Get VTS sectors" in all occasions, this obviously is not enough. Any tip/help/idea is more than welcome...
Cheers

Use IFO Update. This will take all of the timings and other things of the Maestro Authored IFO's and import them into the original IFO's. This will preserve all of the original command struture, but have an updated VOBU/CELL structure timings.
Since you changed your AR, you'll have to edit this by hand inside IFO Edit. -
Cheers mate, I thought IFOupdate might be of some help but I have no clue as to how it works and haven't found any guide about it. Could you please shed a little light to the proceduce I should follow?
I have successfully edited the AR flag in IFOedit previously, new video is displayed fine in all its new widescreen glory.
I have tried an other way, compiled in Maestro and specified "end action" of going back to the start of the same clip. I copied that Maestro IFO to new VIDEO_TS, renamed it accordingly and now when PowerDVD reaches the end of the clip, it doesn't stop or hang. Goes straight back to the start and replays and (this is the weird stuff) if I select Title Menu (from the right click menu) it returns to the "Extras" menu, which is where I want to make it go after finishing playing the clip.
Now, if only someone could tell me where the POST command is residing in the IFO and how I could change it to point to the "Extras" menu, or at least the Title one... -
Follow the "Big 3" backup guide on doom9.
It uses DoItFast4u, Reauthorist, and Scenarist. The last part of that guide details the Ifo Update parts.
http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/ra-guide.htm see #5
The Readme that comes with IFO Update (also available if you hit the help buttons) details what each of the options do.
