I have offered to do the video shoot at my friends wedding using my sony IP1, I have a tripod so will get resonably film, but am worried about the sound not being too good.
I will obviously have to set the camera a fair distance away from the couple and the speeches and am worried about alot of background noise.
Is there any way of getting better sound without a boom and which is easily converted to the films within the editing stage?
Please help, I have a little money to spend on a mic, but the camera does not take an external mic, (I think)

If the camcorder can't take an external mic, you can't improve the sound. If it can, as the previous poster said, radio mics.
