  1. Now I have two questions: 1] If I am trying to make a copy of a movie onto a DVD+R that has that microchip in it, can I rerecord it on another tape and then onto a dvd for my personal collection or do I have to buy another copy of it? Also if a homemade tape is not working due to a bad quality, can I retape that and then copy it onto a DVD+R? 2]When I tape a movie onto DVD+R and try to edit the title, the edit screen comes up but not for the title. Do I have to wait until I fill the DVD+R before I can do this? Or is there something else I'm missing. Thanks for your help once again.

  3. I am trying to copy a store bought movie that is on VHS to DVD+R for my personal collection and when I hit the record it says error. I am assuming it has one of those chips in it that says you can't dubb it. And I have tried to copy a home tape movie on to DVD+R and it will shut off about 20 seconds into it. A person said that the tape might be bad so I was wondering if I redubbed it onto another tape if I could then copy it onto a DVD+R. And the other question was when I do tape a vhs tape onto a DVD+R and try to edit the title, the edit screen comes up but not the "title edit" on it. Do you have to wait until you finish the whole DVD+R first in order to use this function? Now does that make any sense what I am saying?

  4. To edit a title you must be on the title page. Hi-lite the title you wish to edit and then select edit. It title edit does not show up from the title page, then exchange your unit. The amount on a disk should not matter as long as you edit before finalizing.

To copy the tape you must use some kind of macrovision removal device, I would think from reading these forums, which I have never tried.

And as far as the possible bad tape, try your idea. But once again I would suggest trying it to a +RW first, so you dont waste a disk. Hopefully you have done other tapes successfully.
