In what media player are you viewing this file? I have had a similar problem with some DivX encoded files when using MS Windows Media Player 8/9. When I use the Divx Player or Media Player Classic, I don't experience this.
Just my experience.
There are a few things I can think of you can do to try and "fix" the file (there're probably others who will expand on this list):
1. Try a different media player.
2. Check for bad frames with VirtualDubMod and fix if any found.
3. Re-encode the file using VirtualDub and a newer DivX codec (5.05 or 5.1x). Note: This will cause some loss of video quality.
4. Convert the file to .mpg. Note: This may cause some loss of video quality.
Use the guides to the left for further information and instructions on 2, 3 and 4 if number 1 doesn't work for you.
Good luck!!
