hello,
i have captured a mpeg2-file (ca. 10GB) from my tv-card with "InterVideo Win DVD Recorder".
now i would like to make a DVD-Video (or on 2-3 DiscsVD+R) from this file, can i make this with, for example, Nero or another burning software or must i reconvert or can i make only a "SVCD"...?
Another question:
is it possible to say to nero "make an new SVCD" (from this mpeg2-file) and let him burn on a DVD+R?
Excuse my bad school english.
thanks a lot fpor your help.
best wishes
stefan

Depends on where you want to play it. Some players will play mpg on DVD+R but most don't. Check de DVD Players link (brown) on the left.
What you need to do with your mpg to make it playable on a DVD depends on what you got exactly.
If you already got a VCD or SVCD format use this tool (SVCD2DVD) to author your dvd.
If it is DVD format use another tool to author the DVD like IfoEdit or any other dvd author tool you can find in the Tools link (brown) on the left
If it isn't a VCD, SVCD or DVD format you need to convert your mpeg to any of these format. I suggest SVCD. There are 2 tools you can use for that tmpgenc or CCE. You'll info about this tools in the Tools link (brown) on the left. And guides about it in the Guides link (green) on the left.
Just look around and try some guides, remember it isn't an easy process so be patient and use a DVD+RW till you are happy with your DVD.Greatings,

Yes, but cut in two or three parts first with tmpgenc(about 40 minutes for each part) and then "burn" with image recorder. After you extract the movie from the image. And, again, I suggest you use scvd2dvd to author the dvd. -
You can use an author program (any program you find here and you like) to make a dvd out of your .mpg. It is in DVD format. Most of the tools also list the place where you can buy/download it and a list of guides how to use it.
It is a very big file but it should fit on a DVD if it won't fit just use DVDShrink to make it a bit smaller.Greatings,

I don't know if you can use Pinnacle Studio 8. I never used it. About converting i don't know either some programs do and some programs don't
What i do is the following:
1. Make a dvd mpg file with tmpgenc (you don't have to do this cause your file is already an dvd mpg file)
2. Then i use DVD-lab to author my dvd. This isn't an easy program to use but it is the most flexible when it come to menu's.
3. Then i use DVD-Lab to compile me a dvd. Which consisist of a video_ts folder with files in it.
4. Then i open Nero en burn the dvd by selecting make a Video-dvd and drag the video_ts folde DVD-lab made to the root of the dvd.Greatings,
