I have a DVD with two audio tracks on it. When I made a backup of this DVD, I used smartripper to rip out all of the files so I would have the entire disc. Then I used DVD Shrink and set it Re-Authoring mode and took the Main Movie and one of the extra movies and made a DVD.

Now my question is, I have 19 chapters on the DVD. Chapters 1-18 are the main movie and chapter 19 is the extra movie. I have discovered that the extra movie has it's own audio track. When my DVD player reaches chapter 19, I hear no sound. I have to hit the "audio button" on my remote to hear the sound of the extra movie.

Is there anyway to set an option so that when chapter 19 is played, it will automatically switch audio tracks without me having to push the audio button on my remote?

    My other question is:

I have taken a DVD movie with 2 differnt movies on it. One was the original version the other a special edition director's version.

I used smartripper to rip the video and AC3 stream of my choice out.

I then used IFO-Edit. I told it to do a DVD author. I took my steams and put them into the proper fields. (I'm not sitting in front of my computer right now to know the names of the fields, but you should get the general idea) Once this is done you can start the author process and IFO-edit will build you a complete VOB set off of your video & audio stream.

Now my question is "Why do I not have any chapter points left in my movie after doing this"? When I play the movie in PowerDVD, I have one large movie file with no chapter markings of any kind.

Does IFO-Edit's author feature not support chapters? If not, then what program will allow me to keep them when I rebuild the movie?

Thanks for any advice you can provide.

  2. When my DVD player reaches chapter 19, I hear no sound
DVDShrink 3.1 has the option to re-allocate the Audio streams and will solve your problem.
You can also use IfoEdit command "Set Audio Stream nr" for that individual IFO

Why do I not have any chapter points left
Because you didn't extract them from the IFO.

    Open the original IFO, goto
    VTS_PGCITI / VTS_PGC_1
    Menu / Tools
    Save Celltimes to file

    Use that when Authoring.
