I have captured a number of avis and would like to convert them to the following specification :-
352 x 288
25fps
VBR 1800 kbps
48Khz LPCM Audio
I can convert to MPG but it has MPG audio. I have tried mainconcept and tmpegenc but both do not support LPCM audio, I want to be able to use these spec mpgs in ulead dvd factory 2 and having this sepc will allow no conversion. I can convert to DVD with no problems but I can only fit four episodes on one dvd. I would like to fit at least 10 or so on one dvd using the above spec.
Thanks in advance
Paul

LPCM audio is uncompressed and runs at about 10MB per minute so if you use this as your audio stream you severely restrict the amount of video you can fit on a DVD.
You cannot multiplex an m2v (video stream file) with an LPCM (audio stream file) that is why tmpgenc and mainconcept will not give you an mpeg with LPCM audio, it is not possible. They will output the streams seperately though, m2v for the video and LPCM wav for the audio.
If you want to fit a decent amount of video on a DVD then you need to use a compressed audio stream to allow room for the video, use either mp2 or ac3.
Try ffmpeggui to convert your pcm audio stream to ac3. You could then use tmpgenc to multiplex this with the m2v video stream. If you really want to use LPCM audio then you need an authoring package that will accept the elementary streams (most do)
