Is there any differences in speed if you render a DVD project from AVI format vrs MPEG-2 format?
More specifically -
What I want to know is - I am currently considering doing more to my DVD projects by going to AVI capture instead of mpeg capture so I can do some VirtualDub editing prior to compilation... will this impede the DVD creation process timeline I currently have?
Also does anyone know if MPEG VCR works with AVI files?

The AVI files will need to be encoded to mpeg2 for DVD, so there will be time involed for this process. So yes it will take longer, but you can expect better results.
