disc problems!!!

Ive been burning projects successfully when i burn onto a dvd+rw disc, but when i try to burn onto a dvd+r disc, my dvd player cant read it.
I have set my player on all region and it plays all copys svcd's vcds etc..but will not play my project on a dvd+r disc!
why is this?
can anyone help? as its most frustrating

Does your player support +r discs ?, does the disc play on the pc ?

yes it plays on my pc ok. and unsure weather my player supports +r discs!
Wat is the difference between +r & +rw? i know +rw is rewritable but i dont understand why my standalone wont play in +r (single use)

I am not sure if +r would be supported purely because +rw is. Have you any other type of media to use to check, so still +r but a different make of disc.
