ohh it will have to encode it, thats one of the nice things about toast 6.0 you can drop a .avi in and have it convert it to dvd automatically (via encoding)

however it often results in a file thats is too large for a dvdr, thats why im saying try it and see if it is too large or not.

Make sure you have 1 full .avi of all yoru parts (use ffmpegx to put them together like I explained above) then drop that single .avi into toast

    Click VIDEO
    Click DVD-VIDEO
Set it to your File Type (NTSC or PAL)
Drag the .avi to the DRAG VIDEO FILES OR PICTUERS INTO THIS AREA
You will see a section with the VIDEO and a EDIT BUTTON
    push EDIT
at the Top you see TEXT and VIDEO tabs
    push VIDEO
A drop down menu for DVD CHAPTERS will allow you to put chapter marks in your dvd using the times noted
    when dont hit DONE

then rather than clicking BURN go to FILE and SAVE AS. this will begin to process the file to a MY_DVD.IMG which is a dvd image ready to burn

as long as its under 4.4 gigs your set and you can then use toast to burn this image

    no problem
    let me know the results

I forgot to say you can have it make a menu also, when in the VIDEO tab of EDIT you can choose the menu button of the movie by advancing the movie along and then choosing that portion as the button

so in effect you dont have to have it be one large .avi if you want more than one button.
    does that make since

likewise the TEXT button is where you affect what will show you next to the button text wise

    hope this helps

  4. Ok have played with the programme and almost there!

Have managed to produce 2 workable bin/cue files that are both visually and sound fine! However the resulting MPEG has an approximate 28 second delay on the sound (quality perfect) this happens from both MEPG file created by FFMPEGX and also when I attempt to create using Toast through the bin/cue copy function.

I can't see the word for the trees! How do I realign the audio onto the visual?

    Thanks.

    Richard.

sync is an issue when you dont have the proper frame rate for the audio
try to find the frame rate of your avi and then set ffmpegx to that frame rate

to be honest the way I do it is split up the divx into a small (10meg) clip
and proces it using all the avaliable options
shoudl not take long at all

find the one where this 10meg clip is synced

use that for the whole project
    Test them ALL!

if they are .mpeg files you can use mpeginfo an app to get info for the mpeg

but essentially you would follow the SVCD to DVD guide on my website just skipping down the parts where you already have a .mpeg file

    hope this helps some
