  1. Here is my situation. I've been collecting episodes of a tv show over the past 6 months in SVCD format. They were taking up too much space so I purchased SVCD2DVD, converted them to DVD format and burned them to several DVDs. I did not have all the episodes at that time so I was not able to burn them in order on the DVDs.

I finally got all the episodes but some are on DVD (converted from SVCD) and some are on my hard drive still in SVCD format. So what I'm wondering is, do I have to convert those episodes that I've already burned back to SVCD so I can combine them in the correct order or can I just rip the VOB file for the episodes and combine them that way?

Can SVCD2DVD do this? If not, can someone give me some tips on what to do?

All-In-One DVD to DVD/SVCD/VCD and AVI to DVD/SVCD/VCD tool. Requires Cinema Craft Encoder or TMPGEnc or Procoder.
Wheter you will be able to extract each episode i have no idea..
Have a look in the tools section as there is a good few programs that will convert back.

In theory you can reuse the vobs.

I'll do some tests but as i remember it is a case of collateing the new mpgs & old vobs. Rename the vobs to *.mpg, and off you go. You may have to try different demuxers etc in the settings but it does work.

oh yes - only use the vobs from movies/tv eps - not menus.

  4. ChrissyBoy,

It works perfectlly!! I didn't even have change any of the settings. So far I've tested it on 6 VOBs renamed as mpg and none had any video or audio sync problems. I did have one question about something in the log file during this process.

    ############### New MPEG File ###############
    File: D:\1x15.mpg
    Type: SVCD
    Horizontal Res: 480
    Standard: PAL
    Audio SampleRate: 48000
    - Leaving 1x15.mpg alone. File has Nav Packs

    What are "Nav Packs"

Once again, thanks. The donation fee for this program was more than worht it.

Nav pack are streams within the mpeg into which navigation data is added during the authoring process. I.e these renamed vobs are left alone as they already have been processed.
