Apex 9000 - Disc Freeze in process mode

I had a +R (TDK) disc freeze in the "process" mode yesterday. I've been recording 1 program a day over the last 3 days. After recording the 3rd program yesterday I hit Stop and it just stayed in the process mode for over half an hour. Eventually I had to "pull the plug", and obviously I lost the disc contents.

Is this a usual occurance with this recorder? My first thought was that the media might be the issue, but I used a TDK disc. I've had no problems with them in the past and I've burnt about half a dozen of them on this recorder. OR does this unit have an issue with multiple recordings on one disc not done in one session?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
