I'm using Stomp! Recordnowmax 4.50 with a pioneer 106, and my burning speeds aren't right. Instead of 1x, 2x, 4x, I have min, mid & max. If I am burning a dvd image, it takes no longer than 15 minutes, even on min. If I do a disc to disc copy, it takes an hour to burn the disc, regardless of what writing speed I select. The media I'm using doesn't seem to be the problem, I'm using Riteks, and this also happened with Datawrite yellows & greys.
Is there any way of fixing this?

update your burning engine to the latest release (found at sonics web site) and see if that fixes anything ...

BJ_M, I've just tried what you suggested, and upgraded to recordnow deluxe 6.5. Now I can't find any option to burn .img files. When I select burn image, the only file types displayed are .gi, and .iso. Are .img files not supported by the new release? I hope they are, this was the main reason I used this software.

yes they are -- just select see all file types and pick the image file ..

Yes, but where do I select that? If you mean in the drop down bar when I'm navigating to the .img file I want to burn, in recordnowmax 4.50, the default file type was global image (.gi), and the drop down bar revealed image (.iso, .ima, .img, .image & .udi), and all files (*.*). With Recordnowmax, I just selected image, and everything was fine (apart from the wrong speeds) but with Sonic recordnowdeluxe the default option for image burning is All Images (.gi, .iso), and that is all there is in the drop down bar too. I couldn't find anything in the options to see all file types. What am I missing?

Handyguy, I didn't think Nero burned .img files. When I tried to do it, it brought up a foreign image settings box, so I left well alone.

crap -- i just looked at sonic's site and everything is all screwed up .. this new "recordnow deluxe" is not related to recordnow max at all ....
and NOW to upgrade your recordnow max (and prassi and such) you have to be a registered user .. but the only registration it seems to be is for deluxe -- i tried it out and it seems to be real crap ..
sonic should have stayed with prassi / recordnow max 4.6 instead of this crap they are serving up as some newbie home product ... its a joke (my opinion) ....
anyway -- i found a way to bypass the registration (by using google) and here is the last available update for recordnow MAX and prassi .. someone should mirror this ..

Agreed, I don't like the "cool" new look of recordnow deluxe, how can they tout it as an improved version when it supports less file types?
Anyway, I updated the burning engine from that link you posted, and it works to an extent. It lets me select up to 16x for my pioneer 106d, and I chose 2x, and it started burning the disc and said 7 minutes remaining! I thought I had a Pioneer wonder drive or something, until it changed to 24 minutes remaining, which is exactly what I wanted.
Recordnow deluxe will now be uninstalled and remembered as a useless program.
Cheers for your help BJ_M, much appreciated.
