    Hi there, please help me!
i'm using ffmpeg latest version and i'd like to know how to add subtitles to an avi and mpeg file.
first of all... i can view the subtitles when i click on the play movie button, but i can't get the final movie with them. all i want is to make an avi file and an mpeg movie with subtitles. by the way... i'm using .sub file to play the movie with ffmpeg, but they don't get on the movie after the proccess is over.
    HELP!

    moving to ffmpegx forum...

  3. To encode titles in the movie, you must encode to mpeg-2 and activate "Decode with mplayer".

Hello, have tried to do that... but i still can't burn subtitles!!

i'm using a .SRT file, and in preview it works i see the subs.. but when i encode.. the final file movie.mpg, doesn't have subs... i'm choosing mpg2 (mpg2enc)... audio (mp2)... filters.. (i check the subtitle box, put to 0, select "burn", choose the sub file... i activate the decode with mplayer...

    thanks

at least it worked for me... i just change the quick preset to svcd and the rest is just add the subtitles. i had a file i believe in .srt, but i've opened with textedit and saved it as .sub or it was viceversa? i really don't remember but it worked out well.
for better guidance ask directly to the source... ask major!
    good luck anyway!

    hello,

what options in filters did you use?

did you enabled subtitles check box?
did you use number 0 or other?
did you use Burn or Srt?
    did you use .ifo file?

    thanks

ok, i used in video; svcd quick preset, audio; 48000 (224), filters; subtitle checkbox enabled, burn, added the subtites .sub, the sub palett i lefted blank, and the image filters and preview didn't touch them, options; author as svcd xa.img, keep elementary streams (just in case).
    i believe that's all.

as i told you before... if you need anything, you'd better ask the source, ask major.
