Did you mean 1000mb? I don't understand why you couldn't burn a 100mb file to cd.

No he means the mpeg is around 100mb for 9 mins of video, by that I'd say he's capturing at mpeg1, vcd standard.

So mrgee go to tmpeg > mpeg toools > merge and cut.

You could convert your mpeg file to divx to save space. Just use tmpeg to convert to avi.

  6. no i mean 100mb for 9mins < that was just a test to see how big the files recorded will be. an average movie is about 180mins long so a fully recorded film will be aroun 2000 mb thats why i need to cut it mate

    TMPGEnc can't convert to AVI

I've found that the best tool for splitting movies is AVI/MPEG/ASF/WMV Splitter. It's not freeware but it can split movies into as many or few equal sized parts as you like. You'll need to split into 3 and put them on 3 cd's. If you want a cheaper option, use the "Merge and Cut" tab in TMPGEnc's MPEG Tools. The problem is that you have make the splits yourself manually.

File > Output to file > avi file.
