  1. This was so easy in MF2. I have DL the trial version 3.

    This is what I have done...

    -added a video file
    -used the multi trim video feature and created 3 clips, which show up in the bottom panel (cut commerials out)
    -go to add/edit chapters...

    I don't see any of my 3 clips I created. All I have is one long video file. It gives me the option to select points on the file and add chapters but the reason I created clips was to be able to just drop the clips as chapters - that's how MF2 worked.

    What am I missing? If I can't created trimmed clips to use as chapters, then this software is pointless.

    Please help. Thanks.

  2. I think what I need is sub menu's. It seems that I was able to create chapters. However, I have one video file which should be the top menu and I would like to add the chapters as sub menus. Does MF3 support this?

    Thanks.

  3. In the all-new Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3.0...

    http://www.ulead.com/dmf/trial.htm

    ...do you see the ADVANCED SETTINGS button below the window?

    Click that.

    You should see three options:

    - ADD TITLE MENU;

    - CREATE CHAPTER MENU;

    - SHOW THUMBNAIL NUMBER

    This fixes the old problem in version 2.0 of having to have a single-thumbnail MAIN menu.

    If you *want* sub-menus, then select the option to CREATE CHAPTER MENU.

  4. OK - I was going to post a new note about MF 2.0, but then I saw this post
    and think it answers my question - though I hope what I'm reading isn't the end-all to my issue...

    I use to have MF 1.0, I liked it just fine and it did the trick.... I could create a DVD with a single "menu" that had multiple chapters display when you launched the DVD...

    I upgraded to MF 2.0 and it seems (as noted in the post here) that I must have a "single thumbnail" main menu that you must click on to get tothe Chapter menu... is this true with MF 2.0... this kinda sucks... anyway around this (besides upgrading to 3.0) ?

  5. Thanks Jerry for your reply.

    I think my confusion was when you only have 1 video file, it appears you cannot have a title AND submenu with chapters(although you can check both features). It's 1 or the other. That's probably not going to be an issue but was confusing trying to set up a few samples.

    When I added a second video file, I got the behaviour I expected.

    I need to test the capture features tonight. I may also DL VS7 and mess with that a little.

    Jerry, 1 more question, as I see you're answering questions here and on Ulead's forum. It appears VS7 has a few more editing features, is it as easy to use as MF3 if I only want to trim clips and burn to DVD?

    Thanks.

  6. I'm writing a step-by-step tutorial about how to use the Multi-Trim feature in Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3.0.

    I expect to have it finished by sometime tomorrow.

    I'll post it here when I'm done.

    As for the comparison between DVD MovieFactory 3 and VideoStudio...

    VideoStudio 7.01 is primarily an *editor* with authoring capability:

    DVD MovieFactory 3 is primarily an *authoring* application with editing capability:
