  1. I have an audience dvd of a music show, but the sound is unlistenable... The show was aired on FM and i have then a good version of audio... but the two sources don't have the same duration... Is there any tool which makes this operation easy to do? I mean multiplexing without desynchro between audio and video.
    Thx in advance
Edit, I don't need to resample the audio, I meant that for exemple the audio begins much more before the video...
Id like to make fade in fade out on the video too, coz there are ads between the songs on the fm audio source

Yes, you may want to try a stopwatch and Gold Wave. Load the audio in Gold Wave and determine where the video begins. Add silence by selecting Effects-->Silence. Then either add silence or delete the audio at the end to make it last as long as the video. Save it a wave.

Use this guide (Step 2: Authoring) make a DVD with the two files.

  3. i realized that the original audio source is desynchro with the video. is there any tool that opens on the same window the video and the audio i want to multiplex, so that i can set easily... i can't use the original audio source to set the new audio, it will be desynchro as well...
sorry, i don't speak really good english, but i hope someone can help. what i want to do is set the new audio with movments in the video. I know there is virtualdub to do so, but it's not really accurate...

    I see it so easily.

Take your watch and note a good point where you know a good sound cue is (voice, drum beat, etc.) = video cue (e.g. 00:11.00)

Take your watch and note where this cue is in your radio audio = audio cue (e.g. 00:02.29)

Subtract the smaller value from the larger value (00:11.00 - 00:02.29 = 00:08.71)

Add this amount of silence to the radio audio.

Repeat for the end of the video.

    Hope this helps.

  5. yah, i tried the "lips trick" hehe (i used virtualdub and soundforge to be the most accurate as i can), it works quiete well, but takes more time to set... plus this is an audience shot, so it's even more difficult to highlight the movments of the lips... and last but not least i have to make each song and not the full thing at once since there are some interrupts during encores... anyway thanks for the help Tommyknocker.
if anyone else has an idea... i think im gonna have fun with this project

I had another idea, but I guess you're done with me. Good luck, though.

  7. If you are looking for a visual representation of the audio and video sync...try opening the video in tmpgenc, set the audio as the new audio file, apply the "source range" filter and select the display audio checkbox.

This will show the current video frame and the audio as a graph. It would be usefull for fine tuning or finding the delay to use.

  8. yeah good idea, the problem is that tmpgenc doesn't play the sound & video, which could be great. but thta's exactly what im looking for, with a play button hehe
