Just got a JVC HR-S9800U and I'm starting to play with Capturing VHS Home Movies. Got a question about Tracking. The Deck has a feature called automatic tracking ... which says the deck will "automatically adjust the tracking condition" ... and right under it in the docs is talks about "manual adjustment" .... question is .... do I just always leave it in "auto", will that be enough to provide the best quality picture/sound ... or do I put in a tape, go to manual, get the best signal, and then kick it into auto?

Let it do it's own thing. Only when it gives trouble should you try to manually track it, which is not often.

Where did you buy the VCR? I have looked all over the net and can't seem to locate a single site that has one for sale.
