I just recieved an email from Ebay saying

We have reasons to think there are some problems with eBay account.
It is posible that these problems may cause your temporaly account
    suspension.
Per the User Agreement, Section 9, we may immediately issue
a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate
your membership and refuse to provide our services to you if we
believe that your actions may cause financial loss or legal liability
for you, our users or us. We may also take these actions if we
are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide
    to us.

I did not do anything wrong. In the email it also tells me to go back and check all my info on ebay but there is nothing wrong. Also no messages in MY EBAY window.

Does anyone know what this is about??? PLEASE HELP.

Yes, log in but log in from a new window; not via a link in the email, just in case.
Sounds legitimate to me; probably as issue with your email or your credit card (are you a seller too?) but then again I haven't seen the headers (of the email) to check it's authenticity.

got that same mail a few weeks ago - it's a spoof. don't follow any links in the mail.

if you check your account info from logging in at www.ebay.com, you'll see that everything is fine.

OH sh*t, I did follow the link. I will change all the emails and passwords on ebay right now.

Thanks for your help everyone. I thought it might be because someone wrote me an email and said that I raise my own price on the item that I was selling cause he checked the ip adresses somehow. I told him that it is impossibble. That was yesterday.

okay, do not click on any link in the email...

go directly to www.ebay.com, and log in from that page.

check to make sure your password still works. check your account information - if there's a problem with your account, there should be a notation of some sort on that page.

Are they asking you to provide the above info via email?! Definitely a spoof (fraud) to get your information. I'd go to the ebay site and report it directly to them. (By the way, what's an email password?).

It's a SPOOF. A fraud. If you sent them the information they requested, then send me your credit card numbers so I can see if they charged anything to them.

If you get a lot of large charges on your credit card bill, just ignore them.

Please, I'm just kidding about the CC numbers. Contact eBay (use THEIR site) and they will tell you how to forward the email to their security department.

Just remember the classic eBay statement that "we will NEVER ask you for your account details" (why should they? They already have them.).

Notice that I said "NEVER". Again, I said "NEVER". This means, of course, that they will "NEVER" ask you for your account details.

Good luck. Hopefully, you won't get burned now.

I never typed anything into those fields. I got one a couple of weeks ago and I clicked on the link it provided. After that I changed all the passwords and account emails.

I just forwarded the email to ebay and already got an answer.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting eBay's Trust and Safety Department about email
solicitations that are falsely made to appear to have come from eBay.
These emails, commonly referred to as "spoof" messages, are sent in an
attempt to collect sensitive personal information from recipients who
reply to the message or click on a link to a Web page requesting this
    information.

The email you reported did not originate from, nor is it endorsed by,
eBay. We are very concerned about this problem and are working
diligently to address the situation. We have investigated the source of
this email and have taken appropriate action. You may rest assured that
your account standing has not changed and that your listings have not
    been affected.

We advise you to be very cautious of email messages that ask you to
submit information such as your credit card number or your email
password. eBay will never ask you for sensitive personal information
such as passwords, bank account or credit card numbers, Personal
Identification Numbers (PINs), or Social Security numbers in an email
itself. If you ever need to provide information to eBay please open a
new Web browser, type www.ebay.com, and click on the "site map" link
located at the top the page to access the eBay page you need.

I got another question about Ebay. Is it safe to ship to unconfirmed adresses? And can there be fraud when it is unconfirmed?

If the address is unconfirmed, then use an escrow service.

I understand the confirmed/unconfirmed address issue to work like this.
When you open an paypal account, paypal transfer a dollar or so (in my case a pound) to your card, and in doing so send a three digit number with it which appears on yoru statement.
By entering this three digit number in your paypal account you are confirming your address, insofar as you, the card user, recieve your statements to the house in which you use on ebay.
It's more security and I imagine an unconfirmed address is simply someone who hasn't entered these three digits.
There is always a chance the shipping address you have is used by someone who stole the credit card.
Personally I wouldn't risk it if I was sending outside the UK.

  29. Confirmed just means that you gave your personal bank information to paypal, which I refuse to do & still used them more than 75 times just fine.

Also, any email you get from ebay about your account should include your name & your address so you know its from them.
