  1. I have a DVD Combo Drive - LG - GMA-4020b that suddently stopped reading any CD media. It reads and writes DVD media, but won't recognize CD's at all. No error, just no data. It also won't burn CD's as Nero6 sees it but waits forever for drive to "respond."

Coincidentally at the same time, my LiteOn LTR-48125w no longer burns CD's. It initializes but Nero6 hangs at 7% but doesn't actually write any data.

This all happened right after I installed DVDxCopy (purchase).

    Any thoughts.

  2. This idea comes from an unrelated cause, but similar symptoms. My burner 4040B (different from yours I know) would burn DVD-RW just fine, but would fail at 1% with DVD-R, and at the very last part of a lead out with CDRs, making them coasters. It turned out to be a driver issue ( I installed Windows XP wrong, and my IDE drives where all showing up as having scsi addresses! ), and I am wondering if the DVDxCOPY might have installed an aspi driver or any other driver over your previous setup causing the problem. If you can find a list of every file that DVDxCOPY installed, or altered, perhaps you can roll back your system. Have you tried uninstalling xcopy? If it is ruining your system, maybe you could return it?

It sounds like a driver issue to me because it is affecting both burners at once.
