I shot a home movie with my digital video cam. I want to crop the video to make it 16:9 to work on my new widescreen tv. I have read several post and found the best way to do this is to crop 60 pixels off the top and 60 off the bottom for a total of 120. My question is can I crop all 120 off the bottom. If I do 60 off the top, I will be loosing alot of my 2 yr old's head ( I didn't do a very good job centering the video). So I want to just crop 120 off the bottom so I loose the less important footage. Is this ok to do or will I run in to a "field A/field B issue or any other kinds of problems??

Depending on what program you are using for editing/cropping, yes, you should be able to do that. TMPGEnc and others allow you to crop right, left, up and down edges. If the video changes to another position, you might have to split it up and crop seperately, then recombine afterwards. I'm afraid I have never tried this, but it should work OK.
