Ok I am a very new newbie and I need to ask something similar to the above post.
I have some TV show episodes which I have in DivX format, other in AVI, others in MPEG and I have them all in CDs. I want to convert them to VCDs which (if I understand correctly) a VCD can be played in a DVD player (I have a Paritek DVD player). Can I convert them to VCDs or they will not perform in my DVD? FYI, I have the latest DivX edition, Gspot and some other codecs which now I dont remember. Any help given would be very appreciated. I have never done any converting in my life so please be patient if I sound stupid:P
    Thanks in advance

That depends on the DVD player. Some will not play VCD. SOme will play only pressed VCD's (commercially produced, not burnt). Some will play only CDr, other prefer CDrw.

Look up your player in the DVD playesr list on the left of the page to see if anyone else has had success with VCD on this player and if so, what problems they had (if any).

Your best bet is to first convert them all to the same format. If you go to the convert sectin and select what you want to convert from and to in the first drop down box, this will be a good place to start.

bugster I looked it up and no Paritek DVD player in there
Anyway, I also have downloaded VirtualDub 1.5.10 and TMPGEnc
and I also found VCDEasy 1.1.7.2. So what I will do is this.
I will take an episode which is MPEG and I will use TMPGEnc and Gspot.
When I start Ill get back to you for help because I will ruin it for sure:P
