    Just wondering if a Sony DRU-510A plays Region 2 DVD's. I've searched everything and can't find out if it does.
    **NOTE: The Sony is also a burner.

    Out the box it won't have a region set. You get a couple of goes at changing it before it becomes permanent.

    Since you don't say where you live, I'll assume you fall into the region 1 category, in which case you might want to consider:

    Hacked firmware
    A seperate DVD-ROM drive (my preference) with region free firmware
    Backing up all your region 2 discs and removing the region coding

    Don't forget the PAL / NTSC issue if you're in the NTSC world.

    or go to the Links section on the left and find and download a copy of DVD Region Free.

    Incidentally, why do so many people not bother to fill in their details? It helps an enormous amount to answer a question if you know where somebody is, or, if it is a technical question, what the spec of their computer is.
