  1. Not entirely sure where the problem started but since lots of software intalls for ripping and encoding all the avi's i have stored on HD wont now play with any sound in media player, i have tried various reinstalls of codecs and GSSPOT says i have the codecs intalled but how do i get media player 9 to play the avi's with sound ... maybe its an easy solution but for the life ov me i cant find it
It appears that the CPU was operating so fast that it began to execute instructions before they arrived. This execution of future instructions created a small tear in space-time itself through which part of the cpu passed into a parallel universe

  2. Are you talking about AVI's with AC3 sound?

  3. Does this happen only on AVIs using a specific audio codec or on every single AVI?

If it's every single AVI, I would first try a different player, like Zoom Player, which I prefer. If it works ok with a different player, but you still want to use WMP, just uninstall WMP through the "add/remove programs" control panel menu, then reinstall it through Windows Update site. This should fix it.

If it still happens with another player, try reinstalling DirectX as well as you sound card drivers.

Let me know how it goes.
