  1. Hello Gang,
I've managed to rip all of the ifo and vob files from a dvd using dvd shrink, however when I try and burn it using roxio 6 it tells me that the audio is ac3 or something of that nature, and if I choose to continue to burn the project that the audio will then be replaced with silence. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what Can I do to fix it.

Is Roxio any good for data DVD-Rs, I tried RecordNow DX but some of the discs won't read in other DVD-ROMs.

I use Roxio EZCD 6 for archiving my stuff ... I'm constantly running out of room.

Nero Express is also good for making data disks with DVDs.

I use Roxio EZCD 6 mostly for making Music CDs.

and Mp3 music CDs for my Pioneer CD Player.

I use Roxio to make all my DVD backups, works just fine (better than Nero on my system, Nero always said every disc was illegal).

Open up "Creator Classic", select a new data dvd as your project. Create the folders AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS, or drag those folders over if dvdshrink already created them.

Name your DVD, hit the burn button... and there you go, it's done. This is how I do all of mine.

  6. Roxio isn't very good at all as a DVD app. its okay for data, but for movies don't bother. Last I checked it still didn't burn the correct UDF format to be compliant on all players. Easiest free way is use IMGTools Classic to make an ISO from your VIDEO_TS folder and burn the ISO with DVD Decryptor.

    open up creator classic

click "data cd" under project window

Rigth click, create new folder, name one AUDIO_TS and another VIDEO_TS.

bring in all the files that you ripped to your hard drive and place them ALL under the VIDEO_TS folder.

name your DVD anything you want.

    click burn.

I have used Roxio to create all of my backups, havent been let down since. They all play on xbox and my standalones just fine.

When Roxio first came out with Version 6 of EZCD ... it didn't support making Copies of DVD5.

Even tho it had a DVD Builder Program it wouldn't let you use ... Classic ... to just burn the folders ... VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS

But a few months ago ... they came out with a upgrade version ... not sure if it was version 6.1 or 6.2 ... but now it will do it ... so they say.

And since someone a few postings up ... is doing it ... yep it works now.

I tried making DVDs ... when I first got ... Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator 6 by doing that ... and they were lemons.

    So ... I found Nero ... and I've never used Roxio's method.

Reason ... well ... why should I ... Nero works just fine. And I know it will work ... and not make a coaster.

  10. Is there some trick to getting Easy CD Creator to burn a DVD from VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and files created in another application?

I'm using DVD-lab to take home movies (rendered as DVD-compliant MPEGs), author a DVD, and write the DVD content to my hard drive. I can sometimes use DVD-lab to burn the DVD, too, but that doesn't seem to work with all media types. (Specifically, it doesn't work with DVD-Rs; I tried two different brands . . . I'm in the process of posting to the DVD-lab message boards to find a solution to this, but if anyone watching this topic can answer that one, too, that'd be great.)

I tried just taking the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and files and burning them to a DVD+RW with Easy CD Creator (just as a data disk), but the DVD would only play on my PC with PowerDVD; it would not play on my standalone player (a Sony 735S, I'm pretty sure; I'm at work right now, and can't double-check . . .).

Is there some trick to using Easy CD Creator to burn DVD content created in another application? Please help!

    Thanks!

    -Dave
