Ok. I got a file that after some work I realized was an xvid. I am trying to convert this to mpeg2 with TMPGEnc so I can burn it on a DVD. When I try to open it in TMPGEnc it says it cannot open the file or it is unsupported. If anyone has any ideas of why I can't do this or another good way to convert this to mpeg2 please let me know. Thanks

Make sure you have the xvid codec installed with G-spot. Just because it plays doesn't always mean xvid is installed. If it's there, change the priority setting of the Directshow file reader to 1 or 2 in TMPGEnc. It's under the Environmental Settings>VFAPI Plugin tab.

It usually means your Direct Show priorities are not set correctly. Click here.
