Nero Digital problem -- the video is missing

After converting a title with Nero Recode 2, when trying to play the resulting mp4 file with Nero Showtime, the videoscreen disappears and only the audio plays. I tryed many times with different encoding parameters. No success.

The video can be seen in Recode2 itself but only before starting the encoding process. After it is started, the videopreview window remains black regrdless of the corresponding checkbox.

The interesting thing is that the same mp4 file which doesnt show any video in nero's own player, looks pretty normal (a litle bit choppy) in the Quick Time player.

I suspect that the directX 9b is responsible for the mess. Second day, without success. I am desperate.
