Try the instructions on this link:https://www.videohelp.com/mpeg2tovcd.htm. See if they help.

did you move the video source? if you did dat might be your problem..to fix this..make a new d2v file where your video file is or simply move them back to where they were once before

Hi. Make sure your TMPGEnc VFAPI environmental settings show "DVD2AVI Project File Reader" and also this is checked/ticked.
The Windows command that registers a VFAPI plugin into TMPGEnc is like this (notice the comma between the "vfp" and "RunDLL"):
Code:rundll32.exe TMPGEnc.vfp,RunDLL_VFAPIInstall Register
Code:rundll32.exe DVD2AVI.vfp,RunDLL_VFAPIInstall Register
See this graphic for an example of the result in TMPGEnc.

What i mean by tmpgenc reconizes it but doesnt allow me to open it is that i can choose to open a d2v file and select the one i want but then it says that it isnt supported
maybe i should try reauthor the file but i dont think that is the problem, because i have never had that problem, but i cant remember this happening either

I had a similar problem and found that when I extracted/installed DVD2AVI 1.77 right into the TMPGEnc folder, everything worked flawlessly.
Probably not the way it's supposed to work, but it got things running in my case.
Just something for your consideration. -
Ah, another idea...unless this was already mentioned above...
Whenever you use DVD2AVI, save the .d2v project file with a short file name that is around 8 characters long (not including the ".d2v" part). Such as "movie1.d2v" or something similar.
In the past I have had problems, I would save my file with a long name...usually longer than 20 characters and the VFAPI converter and TMPGENC would not work.
