  1. I've seen the panny dmr-hs2 and I know if does not, only 1 component output. Just composit and s-video for input

Does anyone know if any of the newer modles have component input for better quality recording?

I think if you did a web search for "DVD recorder, component input", I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
    Hello.

  4. This one does http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=cm_reviews_dp_seemore/601-1674104-5676135?asi...Reviews&coliid

I have one which I only use for recording from the satellite. The only downside to this recorder is it doesn't have progressive playback but then I would never use a DVD recorder as a player, for that I have this fine DVI enabled player so I watch my DVD's at 720p or 1080i . http://www.vinc.com/product.asp?id=31&PID=21

  9. Thanks for the help.

Does anyone know if any of the panasonics or pioneers do?
I was interested in them since they do dvd-r and the phillips do +R instead.

There is a nice Pioneer unit that does. Also has a hard drive and option for 2 DVD-R drives. I forget the model number, but you can find it on their web site. Price was around $4000.00 USD and there is no tuner! Yes it is a broadcast level machine. I have one in the budget for next year at work, hope it passes.

The North American version of the Philips recorders (DVDR895, DVDR75/80 series) have component In and Out. Product brochures and user manuals are available from their Web site.
