I am making a VOB file from a short DVD-compatible MPEG2 test capture (720x480 resolution). Is this done via transcoding? That is what Nero VisionExpress does with the MPG file. However, the resulting VOB file is much larger (162MB) than the MPG file (133MB). Is this a problem with VisionExpress or do other tools do the same? I thought that if the mpeg2 file is DVD compatible, the size of the VOB would be about the same. Why the size increase? I didn't create any menus in VisionExpress, and I even tried to lower the bitrate, but the VOB file is still larger.
Also, the VisionExpress creates the folder structure, but only for VIDEO_TS. It does not create AUDIO_TS folder. Is this normal?
