  1. Hi all,

I am wondering if one could place a small exe (SVCD player) into one of the folders created from Nero and if the disc would still be considered compliant or not?

I also would like to know if the same thing can be done while authoring a VCD and what folder is used for both SVCD and VCD.

    Thanks

  2. I'm pretty sure that players just ignore anything they can't use. Also, the ISO filesystem goes in a separate track, so it's not going to screw with anything. I think it would still be compliant, and even if it's technically not, it won't be a problem.

  3. I have placed files in various folders and so far so good.

I haven't found a good, small SVCD player for windows that I can put on - if you know of one let me know.

Also for regular VCDs I author a script for Media Player but the scripting language is retarded. A VCD 2.0 player with PBC would be great.

You shouldn't have any problems placing other files on an SVCD or VCD as long as you don't overwrite any of the critical files created by Nero. Unless you have a really anal player, it should just ignore any irrevelant files.

I usually pack WinDVD 3.0 with my SVCD/VCD's in a folder called WINDVD. So far, I haven't had any problems.

  5. You are allowed to add files to the ISO filesystem of a S/VCD. It is fully compliant and will not affect the disc playback in any way.

If there is a problem, the problem is with the player, not the disc.

  6. Thanks kindly for the reply’s folks, it's been awhile since I last checked the board working 60 hours at the moment...

I have a small (under a meg I think) SVCD-VCD player that is freeware if anyone is interested. I can find a link or up an e-mail

    Thanks
