  1. I am using Adobe Premiere 6.5 and doing a photo montage. My pictures look fine fading from one to another until I add the motion feature where I can zoom in on each picture and the picture is jumping when I run the video. I have tried to selecting the flicker removal opion under field options and tried using the flicker removal video effect but it doesn't help. I don't know whether you would consider it a flicker. Really it is just kind of jumpy when zooming in on the pics. It isn't real bad, but is noticable. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem? Most of my pics are set to 720 x 540. Thanks a bunch!!

    Just a few questions.

    1) Is the video jumpy when viewed in preview within Premiere? If this is the case, then it is just system resource problem.

    2) Is the finnished mpg jumpy when viewed on PC? If this is the case, then again, system resouces.

    3) Is the DVD jumpy when played back on TV? Now it could be a lot of things.

You might want to use the Transform filter instead of the Motion filter. The Transform filter is a lot more accurate. Also you don't want to zoom in to close, your resolution is limited.

    One more tip:
When you ouput your video in the Main Concept encoder, choose "No Fields". This will make it progessive instead of Interlaced. All the images are computer generated and are allready Progressive, so you'll want to keep the quality high.

  3. It is jumpy when previewing it, just playing it from the timeline. It is jumpy on the computer monitor and the tv monitor I have hooked to the break cable from the Matrox RT.X10 card. The still pics and the video looks great but when I zoom on some of the pictures that is when I notice it. I haven't burned to DVD yet, so I don't know how it will look then. I meet all the hardware specs far as I know. 1.9Ghz processor, 1-30 Gig Hard drive for OS and 1-160 Hard drive for Video files only. IT is a UDMA 7200RPM IDE drive. The system has 512 MB RAM. I might have some settings in adobe I need to change that I don't know about. Also, where is the Transform effect? I looked where I thought it was but couldn't find it. Any advice you have is appreciated! Thanks so much for your help!!!

Do yourself a big favour and go to www.wrigleyvideo.com and click on Premiere 6.5 tutorials. You'll find a wealth of information there. I'm not on my video PC, so I can't tell you where the Transform Filter is. It may be under "Distort", but I'm not sure.
