Greetings, distinguished forum members! Thanks for any input users may have on this puzzle.

I'm using the Panasonic DMR-E80 stand alone recorder with DVD-RAM media. When transferring recordings from VHS tape, I will often have several different programs on the same disk.

From this forum I learned you can copy the DVD-RAM contents to the PC hard drive and simply rename the VRO file as MPG and it can be read. However, that transfers all the recordings as one big chunk.

I tried using TMPG DVD Author which seemed to be able to pick out the recordings individually, and while I'm a newbie at that app it seemed only to be able to export the scenes into a final VIDEO_TS DVD ready format. (Is there a way to tell it to "save as" each scene as its own MPG file?)

I was hoping the Panasonic DVD Movie Album for DVD-RAM would do the trick for me, but it kept saying the DVD drive was "in use". Since that software seems to want to nuzzle up to the Sonic DVD program, I'm presuming this may be due to an incompatibility with the Roxio CD Creator V. 6. I know the Sonic software has a problem with it, and I prefer the Roxio package for general burning. (However, a work around for that Panasonic problem may be all that's needed. I tried "end tasking" everything Roxio, but the Panasonic app would not kick--drive in use!)

So back to topic.. what would be the best way to copy out the individual recordings on a DVD-RAM disk into the PC?
