After reading this post I went to the local Staples for the TDK+R's. They were all out, but had Memorex 4x instead for the same price $24.99. I quickly grabed them and took them home. They're the same media as the Fujis I love so much. $1 a disk and no rebates, not bad, not bad at all.

Well I'd check those with DVDinfo if I were you. Do they have the gray spindles? If not they might be CMC. I'm tempted to jump in my car and run over to Staples tonight to see if they have the same deal going. After reading this post I went to the local Staples for the TDK+R's. I have some of the TDK 2x disks that were at BestBuy in December - dk grey/blackish base 25 spindle for $25. DVDinfo code is TDKG02 and they burn well on the Sony DRU-500A at 2x. I also got a couple packs of TDK 2x at Microcenter, 5 pk w/Jewel cases for $5.99 but I haven't cracked them open yet.
I'd be disappointed if TDK was slipping in inferior media.Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin' -
Thank you so much for letting us know about this deal! I went as soon as I read your post and the Staples by my house were out of the TDK's (They had the black bottoms so I didn't get them on Sun) Right next to them where the gray bottom Memorex's on sale for $34. I was bummed, but since you said they sold them to you for $24.99 I asked the manager. I told him I'd found out about it online and he was nice and looked it up. They are on there substitution list to replace the TDK's. He did check to see if he had anymore TDK's in the back, but they didn't so I picked of two of the 25 packs. I've been pulling my hair out trying to find the gray bottom spindle Ricoh disc's. Man what a relief! Thanks again. After reading this post I went to the local Staples for the TDK+R's. I know your talking about -R from Staples, but I just got a 20 pack of TDK 4x +R from Target for $20 bucks and they are Ricoh media with a black bottom package. Ok I guess for 4x +R's.

Thanks for the info.Well I guess it's a crap shoot with the TDK's. A real bummer that you can't tell what they are till you open them up. I guess I'm gonna stay clear of TDK because it's a hassle taking them back.I know your talking about -R from Staples, but I just got a 20 pack of TDK 4x +R from Target for $20 bucks and they are Ricoh media with a black bottom package.
