PLEASE HELP!!! Problem With DVD Stopping

First of all I want to thank all who reply to my message, it is much appreciated!

I am a semi-newbie. I have made several VCD's from DVD's but just recently got a DVD Burner so this part is new to me.

Here is my problem---
I have now copied 4 DVD's and each one of them will stop/freeze somewhere about a hour into the movie using a Sony DVD-Rom in my computer. If I play it back on my Burner that made the copy the movie plays fine all the way through. I have not tested them on a standalone as I do not own one as of yet.

I have tried CloneDVD, DVD2One, and DVD X Copy. Also I have tried 3 different types of media Maxell, Fugi & Verbatim, all with the same results.

Ohh by the way it is DVD+R.

What is your method of backing up the dvd's ?.

Try this method

DVD Shrink to copy and encode
DVD Decrypter to burn

Both free programs
