No matter the size of what ever im backing up it wants to analyze before encoding. I used it to rip a music video from a DVD. The total size was only 133mb but DVDShrink 3.1 still wants to analyze before hand. Before you back up under BACKUP Options the option to turn off analysing is blocked so you cant turn it off. Is ti suppose to be like that or is there something wrong with it?

It will always analyze the DVD video files you open no mater what. The Deep Analysis is checked because either you are in Re-Author or because it is such a small file it will automatically do it. It shouldnt matter that it is checked, you will get better video quality because of it. Hope that Helps.

If the files are smaller than a DVD5 then there should be no reason to deep analyze. You should be able to do a str8 rip and not lose any quality. The only time deep analysing should be done is when you have to shrink the files to fit ona dvd5.

Good point but not necessarily true.

I think this issue was fixed with the latest version.
try selecting no compression, and the deep analysis option should be avaialble to check/uncheck. -
Not to be insulting, but do you have 3.1 or 3.1.2? I thought I remember that being a specific bug they fixed
-
Im using 3.1. I did not realize there was a new version out until i read your post. Im going to give it a try.
Thanks -

I have the exact opposite, the option was grey out and I can't enable it, any idea? I am using 3.1.2 TIA

ive noticed that with the new DVD Shrink 3.1.2 the option for deep analysis is only usable when you have to compress to fit otherwise you dont need it so why would you want to do it.
-
Yup, you're right, I just found out it'll be available if compression is needed otherwise it'll greyed out. Thanks

It is also grayed out and unchecked if you've already analyzed that dvd before.
