Can anyone point me to a resource that gives detailed direction on optimum XP Pro configuration and tweaks for DVD rip/auth, analog capture, and general video editing?
I periodically will get swap file messages (low on virtual memory, enlarging swap file) and sometimes get some jerky behavior that should be able to be resolved with some tweaks but I haven't found them.
I've done some general ones but knowing Microsoft, there are 50 performance tweaks that are buried.
Thanks in advance!!!

here's a link that will giive you some ideas - but it isn't spefically aimed at video fine-tuning. Also, stay aware of your running xp pro vs xp home... tweaking results could be different..

For anyone following this thread, here is a pretty good site:

Its not for the faint of heart since some of it requires registry editing and some 'experimental' stuff. I've tried some of them and have seen a small difference. I still haven't fixed some probs that are related to Pinnacle PCTV capture card but as far as editing and transcoding, these tweaks seem to help.
Thanks for all the previous posts!!!---Right now I'm having amnesia and deja-vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.
