Try burning the cue/bin instead of extracting.

  3. im pretty sure ive tried that and it says it cant recognize that type of file.
i am using sonic:mydvd to burn.
it was rar'ed when i got i extracted and i got the cue an dbin files and used vcdgear to turn the cue/bin files into mpeg, do you think that might have caused a problem? i mean when i watch it on my pc though it has sound so i have no idea.

I'm guessing you have a VCD image so right off the bat it's the wrong audio sampling rate(44hz as opposed to 48hz) for DVD specs. That might be why you have no sound on the standalone DVD player.

your bin/cue (other than its warez - please see the rules) is 44.1 sample rate audio and your dvd needs 48khz sample rate ...

Download FFMPEG first. Open up TMPGEnc and go to File, then MPEG Tools. Click the "De-Multiplex" tab and open up one of your mpegs. Double click on the audio stream and select a file name for it to save as then hit "Run". Repeat with your second file. Now open up FFMPG and select the mp2 file that you made with TMPGEnc as your audio source. Under Audio Settings select MP2 as the format, 224 as bitrate, and 48000 as sampling rate. Select a file name for audio ouput(something like "new file1" so you don't get them mixed up) and hit "Convert". Reeat for your second mp2.

Now go back to MPEG Tools and click on the "Simple Multiplex" tab. Select your first original mpeg for the video input, new file#1.mp2 as your audio imput, save as "new movie#1" and click run. Repeat for second file. Finally, burn the new mpegs to DVD.

Not the quickest solution but it will work.
