I know that this has been covered a million and one times already, but I have tried all of the methods to get this to work, and nothing is working.

I recently downloaded several XVid conversions of "24" episodes converted from HDTV, but I am unable to get audio in sync. I've tried all of the demux and convert to WAV schemes, but for some weird reason, the WAV file only has sound for the first 5 minutes, then it goes silent for the rest of the episode. I've done a scan for bad frames, and while there is one in the AVI, none of them occur at the 5 minute mark.

I am almost ready to throw up my hands and wait for the DVD. I've tried just about every variant of VDub, I've tried Nandub and I've tried AVI2WAV, and nothing at all works.

Is there some other program that can physically separate the video from the audio so that I can reencode the audio separately?

  2. CubDukat,

CoolEdit has a function to open up a video file and work with the audio on it.

"File" --> "Extract audio from video..."

It's a very good package, and should be able to deal with this.

    Good luck!
