I am sure there is info on this in the forum, but I wasn't able to find specifically what I was looking for.
In a post I saw a brief in passing mention that when using the ATI TV Wonder Pro card you can't copy VHS tapes of movies because of some sorta copy-control? Is this true? I am looking to buy a card to do two things..
1) I have about 20 VHS movies that are store bought originals, but, they'll never make it to DVD or at least not anytime soon (old ones like YellowBeard, If Looks Could Kill, Ice Pirates... good ol' 80's gibberish). I'd hate to buy the card and find that I can't copy these movies, but, as said I saw this problem mentioned in passing and have not been able to confirm it.
2) Copy TV shows and burn to DVD. Shouldn't be a prob, until I read things about sync probs. I have downloaded a lot from Kazaa! like ALIAS season 3 for example, and they look and sound great, no sync probs at all... I convert to DVD using various programs and in each case, when ya get half way through the sounds gets more and more out of sync. Will this also happen if I buy this card, rip from TV to MPEG2, and burn to DVD?
Any advice would be great, I would like to start on this stuff ASAP but don't want to find out the hard way of quality and sync issues, and especially want to know if I can't transfer my old movies...
Thanks
