I just spent my winter break in india with my family and I would like to send them VCDs of whatever I shot w/ my camcorder when I was there. I've made plenty of VCDs, but I've never done anything with captruing so I dont have the slightest idea where to start. I've looked at some guides but I'm really confused. Can anyone please recommend me a good beginners guide and a list of what I need for my computer to accomplish the task.

The tapes I would like to convert are Maxell TC-30 and the camera used to shoot the tapes is a JVC GR-AXM210U. As for computer specs, I have no idea what I should list so please let me know what I need to post(and how to find it) and I'd be glad to do so. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

  2. OK, first, fill in the computer profile section. That will help us tremendously.

2nd, do you have any kind of capturing device at present?

If you already have everything you need to make VCDs already, then the only real issue at this point will be what capture device to get. That will depend on what your overall need and future needs will be.
