Are there any difference ???
I got 250Gb hard drive dedicated for capturing only. Should I connect it via mobo onboard IDE master and another drive slave OR should I connect to my S/ATA Controller ???? Will it affect the speed ???
any inputs are greatly appreciated
thanks

If the drive has an IDE interface then connect it to the IDE controller, else if it has SATA connector use the SATA controller. If you have a SATA to IDE converter you may use an IDE drive on the SATA controller through the converter. You may gain some speed to separate them on different cables (i.e. avoid master/slave) when transfer from one drive to another.
